It’s time for week seven of my feature post and Reason #7 out of 10 why you’ll fall in love with Australia.
And after trawling through all my photos from my travels it’s come to my attention that there are so many shots that I haven’t shared and of course, behind every photograph there’s a story so, I’ve decided to share one a week and create a little collection that’ll show you exactly; 10 reasons you’ll fall in love with Australia. Enjoy!
The Great Ocean Road
One of the most beautiful road trips you’ll be able to do in Australia is The Great Ocean Road where there are some stunning view points and stop off points and where the famous 12 Apostles are situated. I travelled up TGOR when I was living in Torquay which was perfect because the little beach town marks the beginning of the route and I drove up to Adelaide to see some family for a couple of days. The week we decided to drive up was particularly hot and our little camper van had no air con so I ended up with a truckers arm tan line and having to pull over to nap off the heat – the beauty of living in a camper van! We didn’t have a great deal of time to be able to enjoy The Great Ocean Road properly in my opinion, I think it’s definitely something you need to spend a few days travelling, if not a week if you want to drive all the way up to Western Australia! It’s worth planning for outside the busy season because there will be heaps of tour buses and hire cars – and not necessarily driven by safe drivers! But I definitely recommend adding it to your itinerary, the view points and boardwalks never get boring because they’re so beautiful and there are some really lovely towns to stop in with some decent campsites such as Apollo Bay and Lorne – my favourites!
